Melodifestivalen is a national contest to choose Sweden's representative for the Eurovision Song Contest, and is Sweden's most-watched show!
I had the pleasure of working for Green Wall Design to produce the LED-screen content for 4 different performances. Felicia ended up winning and carried on representing Sweden in Eurovision 2026!

The work involved creating animated 2D/3D content for the backwall and floor screens as well as border panel LEDs. Each project had a very fast turnaround with the creative based on a selection of moodboard images and rehearsal footage.
Felicia - My System
The content was based on pre-recorded footage of Felicia, which was given a glitchy analogue treatment and edited and animated in sync with the song.
A key moment in the act was when Felicia's digital self was breaking free of the digital world and into the live performance, which we internally called "the Shrek moment" based on Excision's live performance.

Smash Into Pieces - Hollow
Smash Into Pieces' act was all about telling a story about how we as humans are stuck in the digital world and unable to free ourselves from it (spoiler: they managed to free themselves).
This act had a lot of separate elements going on, which all needed content creation:
- the back LED screen & the LED floor
- the back LED screen & the LED floor
- LED screens scattered across the centre of the stage, which all had different and alternating feeds showing glitchy feeds or the artists' "cyberpunk" version of them being stuck in the digital world.
- Animated and laser-mapped 1's & 0's, which were overlaid on top of content at certain moments.
Each artist was also connected to LED hoses.

Cimberly - Eternity
Cimberly's act was all about mirrors and reflections.
This was one of the fastest turnarounds of 1.5 days, so the goal was to create a simple 3D animated loop, which I could use light passes to easily animate and create depth without having outrageous render times.
Here's a snippet of the 3D animated loop. Simple sharp overlapping geometry, randomly rotating for 40 seconds, focusing on how it would reflect and catch the light to then animate each light separately in After Effects.
Jacqline - Woman
The goal here was to create that 'showgirl' look and feel, with a glittery burlesque drape as the centre piece. With the act ending in the drapes lifting up and revealing a flashy, smoky environment.
To create this, I made the drapes in 3D with thousands of 'beads' to catch the light. I then rendered out several light passes to have more control and to easily animate in After Effects, together with a lot of glows and other "glammy" effects.
For the smoke scene, I rendered out a simple 10s smoke loop with animated GOBOS.
